I’ve been lost in some minor health issues, dream and imagination land, trying to figure out new programs for a children’s book, delving into a new topic for series #4 of Minnesota Main Street Women. Now my 2025 season of selling begins, and I can no longer stare out the window when life tries to beat me down or technology gets the better of me.♥

I am a Minnesota-based author, focusing on historic women’s issues that still pertain today. Although I write about Clearwater, Minnesota, women of the 19th and 20th centuries, their issues, the issues of the women surrounding them could happen at any time and in any place.

Minnesota Main Street Women came from a dream to write about a 1940woman, who died before I was born. She was a successful druggist in Clearwater from about 1893-1940. I wanted to first expose her issues and how she worked to solve them, and help solve other women’s issues at the same time. My editor encouraged me to keep writing and create a series. That was around 2015, and I did keep writing to tell the stories of other women who helped develop this small community. I also wrote a history about Clearwater, titled “Around Clearwater,” that tells the real story of the lives of many people in and around the area surrounding the Clearwater and Minnesota Rivers.

I am currently working on a children’s story and researching Sarah Whiting, who was a teacher, expert in oratory, and singer. Her issue may be a surprise to anyone interested in women’s stories of strength and challenge.
